The Sabathani Community Center in South Minneapolis has a dance studio available for hourly rental. The building includes security and free parking. The studio space includes mirrors, ballet barres, and hardwood floor.

Rent Space at Communal Studio

Communal Studio is a collective space for rent for the community to take and offer classes/workshops/events. We are pleased to provide a unique opportunity for individuals and groups looking for space rentals. Our model is designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and community while ensuring the autonomy of your classes or workshops without any percentage deducted from your earned profits.

The space is 1200 square feet including a spacious entryway with coat hooks and shoe storage, a 629 square feet studio with dimmable lights, ceiling fans, mirrors on 2 walls and barres on 3 walls, a sound system with aux jack and Bluetooth speaker, plus a back area with a bathroom, storage room, 2 sinks, and a mini fridge. We also have some bolsters, blocks, mats, and more! Come join our community!

Concerto Dance Open Company Class Fridays

Advanced Jazz with Artistic Director Jolene Konkel consists of our unique blend of vernacular and classical jazz with a focus on musicality, virtuosity and dancing in community. Classes include a walk around exercise, center warm up, across the floor exercises and ends with a short combo. Classes progress from the African roots of jazz, to vernacular jazz of the swing era, classical jazz, and jazz funk.

Hopkins Dance Company Summer Classes

Come join us at Hopkins Dance Company (HDC) for our summer classes, running June 16-August 24!

Classes in ballet, pre-pointe, pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical, and musical theater are offered for all ages 3 to adult.

We are also offering two camps for children 4-9 years old:

  • Moana Dance Camp: June 16-19, Monday-Thursday, 10:00am-12:30pm
  • Nutty Nutcracker Camp: August 18-21, Monday-Thursday, 10:00am-12:30pm
