Registration is open for Ballare Teatro’s youth drop-in classes for dancers ages 10-18; these are our levels II-V. Summer Session classes run from June 23-July 31.

Ballare Teatro: Summer Sessions for Youth and Adults

Registration is now open for Ballare Teatro’s summer sessions for both youth and adult classes! All summer session classes run from June 25-July 31.

  • Ages 3-9: Creative Dance and Ballet/Tap classes are offered as a 5-week session. Classes happen weekly in the evenings.
  • Ages 10-18: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, and Progressing Ballet Technique classes are offered on a drop-in basis on weekday evenings.
  • Ages 18+: Ballet, Tap, and Jazz classes are offered on a drop-in basis on weekday evenings.

Zenon Dance School – Call for Dance Educators

Zenon Dance seeks to establish a pool of qualified dance educators/teaching artists to facilitate classes, workshops, and K-12 school residencies for our partner organizations. We invite individuals interested in joining Zenon’s teaching artists, who are committed to fostering children’s developmental growth through dance.

Teaching Artists
In close collaboration with Zenon Dance, the teaching artist will develop a syllabus and lesson plans for classes, workshops, and K-12 school residencies, attend a one-week paid program planning session, and facilitate hands-on and immersive dance-based experiences for K-12 students that integrate core curricular content at partner sites.

Collide Theatrical presents Broadway Dancin’ from April 4-13 at The Luminary Arts Center.

TU Dance: Community Class with Mora-Amina Parker

Join us for a series of community classes this spring that feature some of the choreographers and artists involved with TU Dance’s 20th Anniversary Season!

Join Mora-Amina Parker for a dynamic, community-centered dance class drawing from Camille A. Brown’s choreography. Open to all ages, this class explores movement from “New Second Line” and “I AM”, celebrating Black joy, resilience, and storytelling through dance. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced mover, come connect, express, and move with intention in a welcoming space that honors the history of social dances and personal expression.

Ms. Parker is currently the rehearsal director and restager for Camille A. Brown and Dancers. She has performed with the Savage Jazz Dance Company, Robert Moses’ Kin, Philadanco II, Dallas Black Dance Theater, and Philadanco. In 2009, Ms. Parker was invited to perform with Camille A. Brown and subsequently joined her company. In 2014, Ms. Parker was a member of Ms. Brown’s Mr. Tol E. RanCE which received a Bessie Award for outstanding production. Ms. Parker has assisted Ms. Brown in staging her choreography for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (2019) and on the Broadway revival of for colored girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf, nominated for seven Tony Awards including best choreography. Alongside her dedication to dance practice, Ms. Parker is a PhD candidate drafting her dissertation, “The Expressive Black-Life Worlds of Talley Beatty’s Choreographies: Embodiments of Afropessimism and Afrofuturism” at Temple University.

Floorwork: Conversations and Knowledge Sharing Potluck

Floorwork, a communal conversation and shared meal, was developed to hold conversations, knowledge sharing, and a supportive space for dance artists and people who like to move.

The next Floorwork is to gather and discuss the state of the art form on the local and national scale. Each share what they are doing and how we are navigating it- express what is working and what is needed. Bring a dish to share if able, ARENA DANCES will supply utensils and water.
