MotionArt’s mission is to share the art of dance and the joy of movement with people of all ages and abilities. We strive to enrich lives by fostering creativity, body awareness, and self-expression in a fun, non-competitive, welcoming environment. We offer ongoing dance classes in-studio, on Zoom, and outside (weather permitting).

Paying the regular rate helps keep our organization afloat; however, no one will be turned away for inability to pay. There is also an option to pay what you can.

Sol Creative Performing Arts Studio

Sol Creative Performing Arts Studio in the Northeast Arts District of Minneapolis offers exactly what you need for your musical theater dance training!

Daily classes include Jazz Technique and Combo, ZZ Technique and Combo, Broadway Jazz, Theater Jazz, and Rhythm and Broadway Tap for advanced beginners to advanced professionals.

You must sign up at least 1 hour before class begins via text: 612.508.1634.
No sessions and no pre-pay for weekly classes; master classes excluded.
$20.00 per class. Eight-lesson class cards are available!
Union rate available for union members (AEA, SAG, AFTRA, and AGVA).

Erin Thompson Teaches Advanced Contemporary Classes in Person and on Zoom

Erin’s advanced-level contemporary dance class through Zenon Dance School includes floor work, standing warm-ups, and phrase work, all designed to enhance the healthy use of joints and muscle groups as dancers release their weight fully into the support of the ground. Experiential awareness, body mapping, improvisation, and creative work are included as dancers channel their own expressive artistry within the movement.

TU Dance Center: Creative Movement Children’s Program

In Creative Movement for ages 3-5, children will grow in physical awareness and build basic movement skills, balance, coordination, flexibility, and strength. Students will expand their knowledge of musical instruments and the connection between dance and music, learn basic rhythmical movement phrases, and improvise and create dance ideas that communicate an experience or theme.

Mondays, 10:00-10:45am
January 6-March 3 and/or March 10-May 12
No class on January 20, March 21, and April 7.

Creative Movement and Drum for ages 5-7 introduces students to the basic concepts of drumming techniques (hands and sticks), tempo, rhythm, and music theory. These concepts help students develop physical and mental dexterity, creativity, and musicality to inspire joyful performance and improvisation.

Saturdays, 9:00-10:20am
January 11-March 1 and/or March 8-May 10
No class on April 5 and 12.

The TU Dance Pre-Professional Program is an intensive course of study integrating modern, ballet, African dance, conditioning, and creative workshops for students up to age 24. We hope to welcome students into the space for a transformational and unique experience.
