Young Dance is thrilled to announce its 39th season performance, Body As Voice, presented May 8 and 9 at the Tek Box in the Hennepin Center for the Arts.
In Body As Voice, Young Dance Company dancers investigate how movement can empower individuals to claim agency, speak up for themselves, and advocate for their communities. Through original choreography and collaborative artistic inquiry, the performance asks: How can dance serve as a tool for advocacy? How does the confidence built in the studio carry into the rest of our lives? Featuring more than 30 talented dancers ages 8 to adult, Body As Voice brings these questions to life through bold, heartfelt performances that reveal the power of movement to inspire self-expression, courage, and connection.
