This hybrid Mat Pilates class is taught by a professional ballet dancer and is designed to help you understand how your body works! Dance is all about moving your body in the most efficient way possible to achieve the flexibility and strength that come from working with good body mechanics (or biomechanics). This class will help you learn how to lengthen your muscles and to use underutilized muscles to support overworked muscles, all to build easier movements that are stronger and more flexible! Building this mind-body connection and improving your body mechanics also helps with injury prevention and recovery!
This class is for teens and adults (dancers and non-dancers) who wish to build body awareness and strength through learning and understanding their own bodies. Exercises are slow and specific, with individual corrections and modifications given to help you always get the most out of each class!
