Project Dance Stories is a video storytelling project exploring one simple question: Why do you dance?
We’re collecting short video stories from dancers of all kinds—ballet, contact improv, hip hop, folk, ballroom, bedroom movers, everyone. Each conversation digs into what dance means to you, how movement has shaped your life, and why you keep coming back to it.
This project celebrates a truth the Minnesota dance community already knows: dance shows up in infinite forms across infinite bodies, and it’s all valid, all healing, all beautiful. We’re looking for dancers willing to share their story on camera. No experience with interviews needed—just your honest relationship with movement.
Watch existing stories and submit yours at dancestories.carrd.co.
Audio versions soon available as a podcast. Let’s build something together that honors the full, expansive picture of what it means to dance.
