Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) – University of Minnesota Dance - December 15

We seek an active, innovative practitioner with a developing national or international profile whose creative research focuses on contemporary lensing of dance and movement practices, styles and techniques from across the global field of dance to join our program as an Assistant Professor on the tenure track.

This position will work with the dance program community to continue and expand its commitment to its vision of Contemporary Dance in Global Contexts and the education and training of Thinking Dancers and Dancing Thinkers both through their research and pedagogic practices. If applicable, they will be asked to teach in their specific movement track, as well as, in the program’s more general and expansive contemporary technique and dance composition tracks. If they have the necessary background, they will also have the opportunity to teach courses in the rest of the dance program curriculum e.g. Dance Studies and Dance Production, as well as, propose new courses. Our dance program works intentionally to build a contemporary technique track that is informed by a wide range of aesthetics from across the globe.
