The Saturday, April 18 performance highlights three new pieces: “Jazz Island” by Maija García, “Difference Between” by Mathew Neenan and “Song of the Anchorite” by Jamar Roberts. Sunday, April 19 features two new pieces—“The Holy Blues” by Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, Samantha Figgins and Chalvar Monteiro; and “Blink of an Eye” by Medhi Walerski—alongside the 2004 showstopper “A Case of You” by Judith Jamison.
Both performances conclude with the 1960s touchstone of inspiration “Revelations,” Ailey’s ultimate anthem to resilience and joy.
