In-person FELDENKRAIS Awareness Through Movement® classes with Krista Langberg and Jeffrey Wells.

Drop in any time to our ongoing Monday evening and Friday morning classes at East Lake Aikido in the Longfellow neighborhood in Minneapolis. With Krista Langberg or Jeffrey Wells, alternating weeks.
$10-25, sliding scale per class.

These classes are meant for anyone who is interested in deepening their self-awareness and possibilities of action, regardless of previous experience in the Feldenkrais Method. The space will be open 10 minutes before class begins. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early, especially if you are new to class, to sign in and familiarize yourself with the space. Wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in – having a long-sleeve layer is helpful to adjust to temperature shifts. We provide blankets to practice on and any props needed for specific lessons.

These breath-centered classes capitalize on your strengths and focus on increasing flexibility in a way that is effective, safe, and enjoyable. The classes are taught so that men of all levels of experience, ranging from total beginners to long-time practitioners, will find the class to be challenging and rewarding.

MotionArt Adult Modern Dance Classes

MotionArt’s mission is to share the art of dance and the joy of movement with people of all ages and abilities. We strive to enrich lives by fostering creativity, body awareness and self-expression in a fun, non-competitive, welcoming environment. We offer ongoing dance classes in-studio, on Zoom and outside (weather permitting).

Paying the regular rate helps keep our organization afloat; however, no one will be turned away for inability to pay. There is also an option to pay what you can.

soma club is a low-light, intimate yogic offering limited to six people at a time, held at the Center for Performing Arts Chapel rehearsal studio weekly on Sundays, from 6:30-8:30pm. Please RSVP by following the link to the website, or via email!

The Chapel is a quiet and private space with stained glass windows, 1930s pendant lights, sprung maple floors, mirrors, and original woodwork. Located on the second floor East Wing, it is not ADA-accessible.

soma club is a labor of love and held in the spirit of generosity and collaboration with no one turned away for lack of funds, however, a suggested donation of $15-$35 or more is welcome.

Keane Sense of Rhythm Tap Classes

If you’ve ever thought, “I’ve always wanted to do that,” or, “I miss dancing,” you’ve come to the right place.

Whether you have two left feet or blazing fast feet, we have a class for you! At Keane Sense of Rhythm, students and professionals alike can share, grow, and explore rhythm and movement while having fun.

  • Rhythm Makers – Kids’ tap for ages 8-12

Young Dance offers Summer Classes and Camps

Young Dance is excited to announce Summer 2023 programming, June 6–August 31.

Creative Movement and Dance Together classes will be offered in three sessions, meeting once per week on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. We also offer camps for ages 4–7, or half-day and full-day camps for dancers ages 8–18.

Camp offerings include Music as Movement, Dance + Social Justice, Dance + Photography, Choreography, Dance a Story, All Abilities Dance + Stories, and a unique collection of dance styles in each Variety Dance Camp.

No matter if you are a veteran dancer or slipping on your first pair of ballet shoes, Ballet Co.Laboratory is an artistic home for everyone. With 11 different adult drop-in classes offered each week, including conditioning and Pilates, we know we have the right class for you! 

Join us in-person or virtually via Zoom.
All dancers must sign-in on Mindbody.
Class sign-in will close 10 minutes before class begins.
Single class and 10-class cards are available, and parking is always free!

Contact Improvisation Jam

We meet every Monday, holidays included, at The Center for Performing Arts in room 105w. Entrance through the new wing on 38th Street.

6:30pm: Opening circle, short guided warm-up/exercise followed by an open jam
8:20pm: Closing circle
8:45pm: Entire jam wraps up

Suggested donation of $5 for space rental. The building recommends masks in dance spaces and a signature on their liability waiver. We don’t require masks but do provide N95 masks if wanted. We have that waiver available when you first walk into the dance room. We also ask you to read the Contact Improvisation Twin Cities’ Values and Guidelines.
