Together in Dance

Hello DanceMN Community,

In this time of distress within the state of Minnesota, DanceMN has been thinking about our vision: “All are connected to dance in Minnesota.” We know that being physically together during this time is complicated with risk. We recognize and feel the fear, outrage, and heartbreak many of us are experiencing. Some members in our dance community are unsafe to leave their homes for any reason, including for dance activities.

We at DanceMN are reminded of the many creative ways Minnesotans have found connection in times of upheaval and isolation. We meet this returned moment of inflection with ways to engage with the newsletter that might encourage connection, foster solidarity, and create more access to dance.

1) We encourage folks to utilize the Community Exchange category as a way to share resources, mutual aid, calls to action, and empower each other to stay connected.

2) We want to feature your Virtual and Hybrid Programs. If you are offering virtual or hybrid classes, performances, conversations, or events, please clearly indicate the modality in your program’s title. We want users who are looking for virtual participation opportunities to easily navigate to those options.

With your help, the newsletter can be a supportive resource for those at risk and encourage community mobilization in these urgent times.

Thank you in advance for the opportunities you can share. DanceMN stands in solidarity with our targeted community members and values human dignity, connection, and the right to move. We see you. We support you. We uplift the many ways Minnesotans are making our community beautiful and strong.
