The Laban/Bartenieff Movement System (LMA/LBMS) is a framework that examines the subtle meanings within all patterns of movement and physical actions. The study of LBMS increases awareness of individual movement styles; develops sensitivity to cultural non-verbal patterns and promotes a deeper understanding of the communicative and expressive nature of all forms of movement and dance. This class will use experiential explorations, improvisation, observation, and class discussion to introduce LBMS and focus on its psychological applications. The course is pre-approved by the American Dance Therapy Association for Alternate route R-DMT.
