As part of their North America tour to celebrate the 2023 Taiwanese American Heritage Week, the music and dance performers from the National Taiwan University of Arts will give a dance and music performance focused on the innovative interpretation of traditional and modern Taiwanese dance and music on Wednesday, May 31 at 7:30pm at the Eisenhower Community Center Theater.
An introduction to their program:
The intrinsic concept of the dances is based on the diverse culture of Taiwan which has gone through a history of immigration and colonization. With the utilization of innovative choreography, the dances combine the forms of dance and music that demonstrate the contemporary cultural features, ethnic cultures, and pop music of Taiwan. The traditional diverse culture is therefore exhibited with a whole new style. The performance is hosted in both Chinese and English in order to enhance the interaction with the audience.
