FREE Flamenco Workshop Series

February 22 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Special Topics: Flamenco Workshop Series
with María de los Reyes
Flamenco X presents a free Special Topics workshop series led by María de los Reyes, designed for dancers seeking focused study in both traditional and creative flamenco practices.
Each Sunday will center a different topic, offering dancers practical tools and embodied knowledge drawn from flamenco’s oral tradition, rhythmic structure, and improvisational language. Classes will rotate through technique, musicality, and expression, with attention to how these elements live inside the body.
Topics will include:
• Castanets (castañuelas)
• Manton (shawl) technique
• Bastón (cane/stick) work
• How to improvise in flamenco
• Patadas por bulerías
• Rhythm, structure, and expression
This series is an opportunity to strengthen compás, refine physical clarity, and develop confidence moving within flamenco’s frameworks while cultivating personal voice. ALL LEVELS
