Body Watani Dance will offer an open-to-all movement workshop; ‘Watani’ means ‘my homeland’ in Arabic. Developed by two Palestinian sisters, Leila & Noelle Awadallah, Body Watani Dance invites participants to explore how reflections on homelands near and far impact the way we move in our lives in relation to place and memories. They will also share a Palestinian (Levantine) folk dance called Dabke with participants which has become an in-motion-symbol of embodying Palestinian solidarity and resistance through footwork rhythms.
