Performers will be an integral part of Hallucinations, which will reveal through sculpture and dance the often invisible experiences of living with mental illness – the beauty, the tragedy, and everything in between. They will be part of an experimental, generative creative process involving being present during the sculpture-making process and contributing ideas in rehearsals.

“Hallucinations” is a genre-bending sculpture and movement performance. The performers will dance while wearing and interacting with sculptures designed to fit their unique bodies. The forms of the sculptures will be inspired by real experiences of living with mental illness. Those living with mental illness will see themselves reflected on stage offering a sense of empowerment and validation. It will contribute to a more compassionate understanding that viewers will take with them well after the final bow.

Compensation:
-A $750 stipend
-2 comped tickets (in-person or virtual) each night of the performance
-Receive a wearable sculpture from the project to keep
