Awake. Alive. Anew – Threads Dance Project

November 7, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$20 – $30

Threads Dance Project emerges from the ashes of the pandemic to celebrate its 10th anniversary, premiering the film Out of the Ashes and new works by 2020 Tapestries Program choreographers: Gabby Abram, Jennifer Pray, and Elayna Waxse. Out of the Ashes honors those impacted by 9/11 and asks whether we can resurrect a better way of living. This film, along with the works premiered by Tapestries program choreographers, emerges Threads anew.

Threads Dance Project (Threads) was founded by Karen L. Charles in 2011. Threads’ mission is to examine, expose, and celebrate the threads that connect us. Threads seeks to better humanity – celebrating the human spirit through dance performance, arts education, and community-building. Threads was nominated for a SAGE Dance Award (2015), has toured to sold-out audiences in Atlanta, GA, and Philadelphia, PA, and co-hosted the 2017 McKnight International Choreographer, Salia Sanou, of Burkina Faso/France.

Awake. Alive. Anew is presented by The Cowles Center and Threads Dance Project as part of The Cowles Center’s 21/22 Season.
