Award-winning choreographer Kyle Abraham and his company, A.I.M, offer two special performances of MotorRover in the McGuire Theater. This abstract and tender 15-minute-long duet was created by Abraham in conversation with Merce Cunningham’s 1972 ensemble work Landrover. The dance, performed in silence, incorporates elements of Cunningham while embracing Abraham’s ability to smoothly transition a movement piece from geometric/formal to gentle, soft to hard, spiritual to soulful.
Each performance is followed by a brief conversation between Abraham and Philip Bither, Director and McGuire Senior Curator of Performing Arts.
Performances begin at 6 and 7:30 pm. Please enter through Cityview Bar on level 2. Due to the nature of the performance, late arrivals may not be accommodated.
